krs10 I was there for a great tailgate with many other good folks from all over Ontario as well as the US. Phish were there too, and it was a beautiful day. If it weren't for the rolling blackouts, we would have had a great show. The Toronto Reba from this date would have been one for the books.

vquaker The garbage was everywhere, which was really sad. This is Toronto, Canada; torontotarians take pride in there clean city. So with a tear in our eyes, my girl and I got some shovels and rakes and other implements of destruction from the back of our VW micro Bus and thought it would be a friendly gesture if we picked up the garbage that had amassed in the parking lot and surrounding boardwalk areas. So we collected the ever growing pile(s) of garbage with the shovels, rakes, and other implements of destruction and decided that instead of seeing a bunch of little piles of trash strewn throughout the lot and park we'd gather the trash and dispose of it among the proper waste bucket receptacles that peppered the boardwalk and lot. When all of a sudden an ophishial (official) looking dude spotted us us and began to come our way. By now the parking lot was pretty empty so it was obvious that this guy with mic cables and audio cable snake in hand was coming our way. Now folks there was two possibilities that crossed my mind as this man quickly approached... #1 was he would say to us " hey man you missed a spot" or #2 which I most expected the guy to say "yo dude, can I have the empties cause i'm trying to get to the next show...." but in fact a third possibility, a third possibility which i hadn't even though of happened and he immediately thanked us, gave us praise and presented us with the most coveted prize of all... a green crew T-shirt and told us that he was happy to see us picking up the garbage and welcomed us with open arms. So with tears in my eyes I rode off into the sunset with a half a ton of pride and started singing the song Alice's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie. If you don't know the words a sing a verse for you when it comes round on the guitar again, here it comes.... are you ready? " You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant, except for Alice..." now folks i've been writing this review of the first show to date that phish has cancelled since they began touring in the late 80's!!! Am I proud, glad, mad (crazy)? or seeming to be even a little sad for wasting all you good folks time in having to read through all this banter! You could sum it up by this response. A little of column "A" and a little of column "B" and even "C". If two folks pick up the garbage it will take a long time but will get done... but imagine if 50 people a day picked up the garbage, thats right; 50 people a day... well it still would get done and those 50 people a day may turn into 100 then a 1000 people a day picking up the garbage we'd show the earth we care for her and all she provides to us and that folks we could call a movement... The Alice's Restaurant 2.0 dropping cable movement and that would be a beautiful thing.
